Novel Tools for WAN Cyber Visibility
Optical Network Information Assurance as it relates to nation and global scale, is a focus of research for Rsignia. Rsignia has exclusive licenses in the development of “tools and systems” to capture and utilize network and protocol information derived from below Layer 2. This information exists at and within the SONET frame which is the world’s standard for WAN data transport across optical networks..
This “optical bit stream” management and SONET frame data provides a wealth of information which can be used for passive applications like WAN source entry of the packet, real time spoofed IP filtering (recently patented) and enable new defensive measure and IA and provide entrée to offensive cyber warfare. The “raw sonet” data can also be correlated to upper OSI layer indicators to provide a new paradigm in Cyber Forensics Databases. This is a critical capability when trying to reconstruct “events” or maintain large scale defenses in a battle space depicted as a cloud.
